Sowing the seed of purity as the child tastes solid food for the first time.
Annaprashan marks the moment a child first eats solid food. In the Indian view, food nourishes not only the body but the Annamaya-kosh โ the food-sheath of the personality โ so this first meal is offered with care and consciousness.
The food is first offered to Yagya Bhagavan (the sacred fire) and then lovingly given to the child, planting the seed of purity, gratitude and right eating habits.
GPWO performs Annaprashan with Gayatri Mantra and Yagya, and shares simple guidance on pure, sattvic nourishment for the child โ performed simply and meaningfully in the Gayatri Pariwar way โ centred on the Gayatri Mantra and a small Yagya, with the family participating directly rather than as onlookers.
