Samagri Checklist
Special Items for Deep Yagya
Together with the core samagri, arrange these for the festival of lamps:
- Many earthen diyas (deepak) โ as many as your sankalp
- Abundant cotton wicks (batti)
- Pure ghee or til oil for the lamps
- A large thali or tray to arrange the lamps
- A framed image of Gayatri Mata
- Fresh flowers & akshat
- Camphor for the concluding arti
The Essentials
Core Samagri โ Common to Every Yajna
These items form the foundation of almost every puja and havan. Gather these first, then add the special items listed below for this particular ceremony.

For the Sacred Fire
- Havan kund (copper/iron) or a clean vedi with sand
- Mango-wood samidha & dry cow-dung cakes (kande)
- Havan samagri โ herbal mixture (jau, til, rice, sandal, dry herbs)
- Pure cow's ghee (gau ghrit)
- Camphor (kapur) & a matchbox
- Sruva / spoon for offering ahuti

For Worship (Pujan)
- Kalash (copper/brass) with water, mango leaves & coconut
- Roli, kumkum, haldi, chandan & akshat (unbroken rice)
- Moli / kalava (sacred thread)
- Akhand deepak, cotton wicks & oil/ghee
- Dhoop, agarbatti, flowers & a garland
- Paan, supari, laung, elaichi & Gangajal

Offerings & Seating
- Panchamrit โ milk, curd, ghee, honey & sugar
- Fruits & sweets for naivedya (prasad)
- Image / idol of the Ishta Devata (Gayatri Mata)
- Asan (woolen/cotton seat) for each worshipper
- Thali, small katori bowls & a clean red/yellow altar cloth
