Significance
Shraddh and Tarpan are acts of gratitude β offerings of water, prayer and remembrance to the ancestors who gave us life and culture. They express the truth that we are forever indebted to those who came before us (pitru-rin).
Performed with devotion, these rites bring peace to the departed and blessings, harmony and a sense of rootedness to the family.
