A sacrament for the healthy body, noble mind and divine impressions of the child still in the womb.
Punsvan is among the earliest of the sanskars โ performed while the child is yet in the womb. Its purpose is to invoke health, strength and noble tendencies in the developing child, and to surround the expectant mother with a calm, sattvic and prayerful atmosphere.
The Vedic seers understood what modern science now affirms: the thoughts, food and environment of the mother shape the child profoundly. Punsvan consciously fills these months with positivity, prayer and good sankalp (resolve).
GPWO performs Punsvan Sanskar with Gayatri Mantra, a small Yagya, and guidance for the parents on diet, conduct and thought during pregnancy โ performed simply and meaningfully in the Gayatri Pariwar way โ centred on the Gayatri Mantra and a small Yagya, with the family participating directly rather than as onlookers.
